Staying Safe as Restrictions Ease

Staying Safe as Restrictions Ease Can

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected our lives in many ways. As restrictions begin to lift, the Baton Rouge community will start to return to work, school, and social events. We have all heard the basic precautions - wash your hands, wear a mask, avoid touching your face, and stay six feet apart. Here are additional precautions to help protect you and your loved ones:

School

Although case numbers for children are far lower than for adults, it is still important to take precautions to protect yourself and your family. Labeling your children's supplies can help prevent other students from using them. Have hand sanitizer ready when your child gets home from school or in the carpool line. Once at home, remove clothes/shoes and place them in the laundry or a designated place for disinfecting.

Office

Make sure your place of work is performing safety measures - temperature checks, limited guests, stringent disinfecting processes. Start off your day by cleaning office supplies such as your keyboard, phone, and computer mouse with a domestic spray cleaner or wipe. If available, opening windows can help increase the ratio of fresh air intake to recirculated air - reducing the concentration of virus particles in air-conditioned spaces.

Social

Limiting the number of people at a gathering is crucial to reducing the spread of the virus. Frequently clean commonly touched surfaces like tables, counters, and seat covers. Use disposable items as often as possible to limit transfer.

Most importantly, if you have any symptoms, stay home. Get tested as soon as possible and remain at home until you receive results. At Patient Plus Urgent Care, we are providing COVID-19 testing at all six of our locations - with or without an appointment.

It will be tempting to see reopening as the return to our previous way of life before COVID-19, but it is important to remain vigilant in taking precautions to protect you, your family, and your community.
