Our Story

RUBIN PATEL, M.D., is the chief medical officer and founder of Patient Plus Urgent Care. Patient Plus treats most common illnesses and injuries—the sniffles, rashes, fevers, aches, breaks and other conditions that deserve prompt treatment but are not serious enough to require a trip to the nearest emergency room. The clinics provide complete onsite diagnostic services, including X-rays, flu tests, strep tests, EKG’s, physicals, vaccinations and more. The first Patient Plus clinic opened in January 2016 at 2840 Florida Blvd. in Mid City. The second location opened in November 2016 in Bocage on Jefferson Highway near Lobdell Avenue. Walk into either clinic and you’ll experience a bright, welcoming environment that is professionally staffed and fully equipped to provide mod-ern health care, characterized by respect, attentiveness and commitment. Care is available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, and patients never need to call first or make an appointment. In a day and time where the economy forces physicians to minimize time spent with patients, Patient Plus’ fresh approach is like stepping back in time when getting to know a patient was always part of a doctor’s treatment plan.
